Mesopotamia floral jewellery

In Mesopotamia, floral jewelry is imitated in flowers, leaves, grapes, twigs, and spiral objects. Their jewellery is made of gold, silver, and semi-precious stones which are lapis lazuli, carnelian, agate, and beads. I like how colour is added by using semi-precious stones to create contrast.

Figure 1 - unkown, (c. 2600- 2500 BCE). Sumerian headdress, lapis lazuli, carnelian beads and gold.

The Sumerian headdress in figure 1 is on of the jewellery that was worn by the queen Puabi. She wore lots of jewellery because of her status.
